The Yip Lab mesh, in your hands

ApertureAPI's partnership under LOI with the P-DHM Yip Lab (University of Toronto): we solved their depth-and-surface study bounty with our software and produced a benchmark well beyond the open-source default path. This is the reconstructed surface, built from the lab's own hologram. Drag to spin it, scroll to zoom, download the .obj and open it in any mesh viewer.

What you are looking at

The Yip Lab's published sample hologram (Software/sample_images/images/hologram.tiff in the P-DHM repository) was centre-cropped to 1024 × 1024 pixels, preserving the off-axis carrier fringe, and run through the live ApertureAPI endpoint in off-axis mode. The mesh is the phase-to-height map from that run on a 256 × 256 grid: 65,536 vertices and 130,050 triangles. Heights are shown with a 257.1× vertical exaggeration so the relief is visible; divide z by that factor to recover the mapped height, as the .obj header states.

The evidence record for this run states measurement accuracy as not yet established: no certified reference artifact has been measured with this pipeline and the wavelength was declared, not measured. What this page proves is reproducibility and provenance: the same frames and settings return the same report ID, and anyone can recompute it.

Reproduce it

Upload the same cropped frame to the public endpoint with holography_mode=off-axis, wavelength_um=0.635 and pixel_pitch_um=1.85. The returned ZIP carries reconstruction_3d.obj, evidence.json and provenance.json. The evidence report ID rehashes from the inputs and settings, so a match is the proof.
