Core-facility director briefing — free, 30 minutes, technical

Stage: opens the facility channel (page 32); facility directors also know which user groups own the budgets (page 31). Buyer pages: for core facilities · reproducibility bundle · procurement · teaching module.

A no-cost 30-minute technical briefing for the director or manager of a shared microscopy or metrology facility, about three things they care about: repeatability of how users' results are produced, data handoff (what leaves the facility, what comes back, what is kept), and user support (who answers when a student is stuck). It is not a sales demo.

The pitch

Subject: 30-min technical briefing for <facility>: hologram reconstruction records

Dear <Name>,

<Facility> lists <instrument> and supports users who record holograms or
interferograms. We run a hosted reconstruction service whose every result
carries an evidence record (software version, hashes of input and settings,
a result ID anyone can recompute).

Would a 30-minute technical briefing for you and your staff be useful? It
covers three things: how results can be regenerated after a user leaves, what
data leaves the facility and what comes back, and how user questions get
answered. No cost, online, no follow-up obligation, and we'll be clear about
what the service does not do.

One follow-up after 7 days, then stop. Artifact: pitch sent; facility row at briefing pitched.

Prep (1–2 hours)

  1. From the facility page: instruments, user base, booking/recharge model (fill core_facility_recharge per page 31 if the facility is on our list).
  2. Run the facility's main holographic instrument's typical parameters through the fit check (page 24); save it.
  3. One result ZIP from our public sample, opened to the evidence record and methods supplement.
  4. Read the data-handling section of the procurement packet so you can answer handoff questions from it, not from memory.

Agenda (30 minutes)

Min Topic Show
0–3 Their facility, their users ask: how many groups record holograms; what happens when a student leaves
3–12 Repeatability frame + settings → result ID; re-run → same ID; change one setting → new ID. "This proves how a result was made, not how accurate it is."
12–20 Data handoff what is uploaded, what is returned (ZIP contents), what is kept and what is deleted — read from the procurement page
20–26 User support the fit checker users can run alone; the monthly clinic (page 26); the teaching module for training sessions; the escalation address
26–30 Their questions; offer the one-page sheet for core facilities

Claims rule (page 00) applies: no accuracy, agreement or speed figures; research use only.

Follow-up (within 24 hours)

  1. Thank-you with the sheet link and their facility handle (page 32).
  2. Answers to any question you could not answer live, checked with the operator.
  3. If they named user groups that fit: ask permission to contact them, naming the facility; each becomes a prospect row with source facility:<handle>.
  4. Offer a clinic slot for their users and the teaching module for their next training session.
  5. If the facility has no holography rig and wants 3D surface or thickness measurement for its users, name the Hardware Design Partnership (page 22): we build, calibrate and ship a capture instrument to order. Price goes in the follow-up, never in the briefing.

Artifact: briefing date in the facility row; follow-up email sent; sheet placed (page 32) or a logged "declined".
