Core-facility referral program — the one-page sheet, placed and routed

Stage this page moves: → 1. A shared facility sees many labs that record holograms; when its staff can point a compatible user at us, the user arrives already pre-filtered. Buyer page (the sheet itself): for core facilities — a printable one-page referral sheet. Also workflow fit.

There is no referral fee, commission or credit for the facility. The facility's reason to refer is that it helps its users; anything else breaks the no-paid-acquisition rule (page 00) and most universities' conflict-of-interest rules.

Which facilities

Shared microscopy, imaging, optical-metrology or nanofabrication characterisation facilities that (a) list a holographic, DHM/QPI, interferometric or white-light-interferometry instrument, or (b) serve groups already on our design-partner targets or prospect log. Find them on the institution's "core facilities" or "shared instrumentation" pages; the budget-owner mapping research often surfaces them. One owner per facility row.

Getting the sheet in

  1. Ask, don't post. Email the facility manager (named on the facility page). Never leave material in a building or on a board without permission.
  2. Offer the free technical briefing first (page 33); the sheet is the take-away from that conversation.
  3. Give the facility a handle and a personalised link: https://api.apertureapi.com/signup?ref=<facility-handle> — handle rules: lowercase letters, digits, ., -, _, up to 40 characters, e.g. fac-ulaval-cervo. Tell the desk (system@apertureapi.com) the handle so it appears in the scoreboard's signups_by_ref.
  4. Send the sheet link and a version with their handle filled in. They may print, pin or forward it as they choose.
Subject: A one-page sheet for facility users who record holograms

Dear <Name>,

Thanks for <the briefing | your time>. As discussed, here is a one-page sheet
for users of <facility> who record holograms or interferograms:
https://api.apertureapi.com/docs/for-core-facilities

If you'd like referrals to show up as coming from <facility>, use this link on
the sheet: https://api.apertureapi.com/signup?ref=<facility-handle>
There is no fee or incentive involved; it only lets us tell you, if you ask,
how many of your users found it useful. Users can also check their setup first,
without an account: https://api.apertureapi.com/docs/workflow-fit

<your name>

Artifact: facility row at sheet placed with the handle and the manager's written ok.

Routing a referred user

Signal What you do
signup with ref=<facility-handle> new prospect row, source facility:<handle>, owner = the facility row's owner; within 2 working days send the fit questions (page 24)
email naming the facility same row, same steps
fit tested / needs_review stage 1; clinic invitation (page 26)
fit unsupported reasons + thanks; logged; no follow-up sequence

Log every referred user as its own row; the facility row keeps a count (referred_users) for the quarterly note back to the manager — counts only, no user names unless the user agrees.

Artifact: each referred user has a row with source facility:<handle> and a saved fit response.
